Nordlys series stoneware vase by maria philippi (1927-2004) for søholm stentøj. The nordlys or northern lights series was designed by german ceramist maria philippi in 1963. The glaze is inspired by the fluorescent blue tears or "blue tears" that appear in the north sea. This large vase is marked under the base "3317" for the model and "søholm denmark stentøj".
