Enamelled sandstone lamp by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen , Denmark , circa 1960

Enamelled sandstone lamp with a stylized and repetitive floral pattern, hand-painted, in shades of brown and blue on a speckled beige background. The lamp was designed by marianne starck, a danish ceramist, for the michael andersen pottery factory of which she was the artistic director from 1955. Marked on the reverse, in hollow: the logo with the 3 fish of the michael andersen factory, the ms signature and "bornholm" (bornholm is a danish island where many potters were established in the 50s 60s 70s, a bit like vallauris in france. H of the foot: 21.5cm/27cm (with the socket) diam: 13cm. Very good vintage condition, electricity redone (socket + brown fabric thread) The lampshade is not included in the sale.
