Grasshopper armchair designed by Eero Saarinen in 1946 for Knoll. Its bent plywood structure creates a continuous line that forms both the legs, the armrests, and the support for the seat. The deep seat and slanted backrest offer remarkable comfort, while the soft curves and elegant proportions herald the organic research that would make Eero Saarinen famous. Fully reupholstered in olive green fabric, this model is considered one of the designer's first major creations for Knoll and is an icon of post-war American design.
