School desk Delagrave

Adorable small varnished wooden desk in a honey-gold colour, it seems to be oak, with a tubular metal base in that metallic green colour so typical of school furniture. It has a hole for an inkwell, grooves for pens, and a compartment under the top for storing notebooks and books. Its rather compact size gives it an additional advantage: it will fit even in a small child's room. It still has its label mentioning the Delagrave brand, a publisher of school supplies, initially of textbooks since 1865, and then of school furniture from 1880. Delagrave editions still exist today but have refocused on textbooks since the 1980s, probably. This desk likely dates from the 1960s or 70s. It is in generally good condition, still very sturdy and stable, but obviously shows its age and the patina that comes with it: small stains, scratches, abrasions on the wood, and missing varnish on the top. The metal also shows signs of extensive use by dozens of little schoolchildren: green lacquer partially absent, mainly on the side worn by the children, replaced by the natural patina of the metal: superficial corrosion. I have cleaned it carefully, but for the rest, I preferred to leave it with its beautiful "school" patina. It measures 55 cm in height, and the top measures 55 cm by 40 cm.
