Published around 1975 by giroflex, the famous swiss house that pioneered ergonomics applied to furniture, these pieces bear witness to a pivotal era: one where modernist functionalism evolved towards a form of plastic radicalism, these chairs aptly translating the vocabulary of post-bauhaus design, tinged with a masterful brutalist aesthetic. This model, rarely seen in this finish, combines a satin black metal base and honey-toned molded beech, offering a warm and graphic contrast, perfect in a collector's interior, a contemporary gallery or a bold architectural space. The independent, slightly inclined, curved backrest is designed to fit the arch of the spine, while the wide two-blade seat ideally distributes the weight, contributing to a rare visual tension: a balance between controlled brutality and discreet refinement.
