Rare vintage pitcher in black and white ceramic with a thick lava or volcanic rock glaze. Raw work, deliberately irregular, evoking the brutalist ceramics of the german fat lava style of the 60s and 70s. Heavily textured black and white glaze, evoking lava flows. Very decorative, with a strong contrast between the raw exterior and the smooth ivory interior. Superb as a vase, centerpiece or simple sculptural object and in a natural, wabi-sabi or arty interior.
