From the 40s, he spontaneously introduced the notions of creation and aesthetics in the realization of everyday objects, favoring rattan and metal. His stroke of genius was to use, before anyone else, from 1945, the perforated sheet metal a material discovered during his captivity in germany. Inventing a new technique, he created a new material: he first perforated the sheet metal classically with clover patterns and then with small square or round holes. In 1952, he named this openwork mesh "rigille". He developed a machine capable of folding, pleating and shaping sheet metal like a fabric, which offered him a multiplied freedom of expression. The tray is in good condition. It shows signs of wear like scratches and slight discoloration. Patina consistent with age and use.
