Old Tunisian vase by Hassan El Kharraz signed

Old vase at anses early XX. Family tradition has it that the kharraz family originated in andalusia and came to settle in tunisia during the seventeenth century. Potters from father to son, the 1st "master" is el hadj kharraz, active in the 2nd half of the nineteenth century. The author of our jar is one of his two sons, hassen, cited as an "artistic potter" in "the tunisian indicator" from 1911 to 1914. He died in 1922.
