A vase from the Ząbkowice glassworks, made in Poland in the 1970s, representing the Polish modernist school of that period. Its construction is based on a slender, hand-blown form with a distinctly elongated and slightly flared neck, topped with an asymmetrical spout. The dominant colour is a transparent, intense red, enriched with a decorative, opaque white spiral that wraps around the entire body of the vase. The dynamic pattern emphasises the modernist character of the glass. The high gloss of the surface and the lack of visible joints testify to the precision of workmanship. The whole piece was made as a single cast, with no traces of gluing or secondary interventions. The proportions of the vase are balanced – the slender body smoothly widens towards the broad base. The item is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or signs of restoration. Thanks to its vivid colours and the spiral line encircling the form, the vase 'speaks' with the voice of the decade in which optimism and modernity met at the intersection of craftsmanship and applied graphics. The red glass seems to pulsate with energy, while the white spiral tells of the dynamics of everyday changes in the 1970s. This is not so much a utilitarian object as a glass note from a time when Polish design boldly reached for expressive forms and daring colour solutions, offering a breath of freshness among the repetitive interiors of the PRL era. The vase will fit perfectly in a living room, where it can be displayed solo on a console or shelf to emphasise its sculptural character and colour saturation. It will also look great alongside other glass or ceramic accents from the era – both against light and dark walls. Interiors with a retro touch, eclectic collections and spaces inspired by mid-century modern will allow its graphic rhythm and retro-futuristic colour sound to be fully appreciated.
