Glass vase (h: 25cm), design by per lutken (1916-1998), edited by the famous danish glassworks holmegaard. Bluish tone, beautiful thickness of the glass visible in the upper part being an integral part of the design of this vase dated and signed below. Per lutken was a famous danish glassmaker, he joined holmegaard in 1942 and worked there until his death. he helped revive the glassware that was running out of steam, bringing his sleek and timeless style, which has become a classic of scandinavian design that can be found in many danish and swedish homes. Very productive, he will create for decades many models that will make the success of the glassworks in denmark and in the world. The holmegaard factory was founded in 1823 in næstved southwest of copenhagen and started its activity by manufacturing green and brown bottles, and later turned to art glassware. Count christian conrad danneskiold-samsøe bought the holmegaard estate and realized that the local peat could be used as fuel. He therefore asked the king of denmark for permission to create a glassworks, but died before getting the answer... It was not until 1825 that his wife, countess henriette danneskiold-samsøe received a favourable response from the king. Although a widow and mother of six children, she decided to continue her husband's project and launched the holmegaard glassworks (holmegaard glasværk) which produced until 2008.
