Mid-Century Modern Swedish Oil Painting "Auburn Hair" Vintage Portrait, Framed

Auburn hair. Size: 58.5 X 50 cm (including frame) Oil on canvas. A very charming expressionist portrait in oil, painted in 1969. This oil composition features a portrait of a female figure with auburn hair, against a similarly coloured background. Her gaze is away from us, suggesting that she is pensive. The painting is characterised by expressive, gestural brushstrokes, with areas of impasto particularly to the black coat that the figure is wearing. There is a lovely subtle quality to this painting, its softness and gentleness combined with its typically mid century feel would make it a fine addition to an interior space. The painting is housed in a wonderful frame with lovely linen and gilt detail, illuminating the painting beautifully. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
