SCULPTURAL SET OF THREE NESTING TABLES SPACE AGE TEXTURED GLASS SAINT-GOBAIN FRANCE, CIRCA 1970. Rare sculptural set of three nesting tables made in France circa 1970, powerfully illustrating the architectural vocabulary of Space Age design. Each table presents itself as a monolithic volume in an inverted arch, with softened inner curves and a textured golden lacquered finish. The tops are made of thick, moulded and granulated glass slabs from the Saint-Gobain factory, whose slightly green hue and mineral surface enhance the futuristic and industrial character of the whole. This design reflects the experimental spirit of late modernist interiors, where furniture becomes both a functional object and a spatial sculpture. In nesting position, the three elements form a true architectural structure; when used separately, they become elegant side tables or end tables. Their narrow and elongated proportions make them particularly suited for refined contemporary interiors, interior architecture projects, collection design environments, or gallery presentations. This type of French Space Age production — often made in small series by decorators or specialised workshops — is increasingly sought after today for its strong visual presence and great decorative versatility. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age, slight chips as per photos.
