Dimensions: 70 X 100 cm. An antique school poster or educational botanical print on the pollination and fertilisation of plants, published in several languages (Spanish, English, French, German, and Swedish). In the centre and on the sides, key insects and animals appear, such as a hummingbird, a beetle, a bee, a fly, and a long-tongued sphinx moth. The illustrations are by Max Richter, a renowned scientific illustrator and biological artist from Germany, active mainly in the mid-20th century (between the 1940s and 1960s). Although Richter was German, the production of these large-scale prints was primarily centralised in Sweden during the post-war period (through distributors and printing houses of international educational materials such as Interdidact or Stig Jung & Co). In one corner, it bears the seal of "Staatliche Realschule (Mittelschule) Westerburg, " the State Secondary School of the town of Westerburg, located in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It retains its original black wooden battens and upper fittings for direct hanging. Excellent vintage condition, with a beautiful patina that certifies its age without losing the vibrancy of the original colours.
