Convex sun mirror

Sublime witch mirror in wood painted in red then gilded with gold leaf, probably late 19th, early xxth. Beautiful diameter of 67cm and in good condition! A small chip on the wood and 1 branch repaired with staples (old technique) to see in the photos. The convex mirror made its appearance in the fifteenth century and it was used to monitor household staff, customers of shops and banks (hence its other name of banker's mirror), highly sought after by collectors it takes the name of sun mirror in the 40s. Mirror diameter 14cm. Thickness 7 cm.
