Rare vintage Pillivuyt teapot – Mehun fired porcelain, rare model with perpendicular handle. Found in absolutely impeccable condition, this fired porcelain teapot by Pillivuyt is a little gem at the crossroads of functional design and rustic elegance. Its marron glacé glaze (some would say milk chocolate) is remarkably shiny, and the whole thing appears to have never been used. This makes it unique. A handle positioned perpendicular to the spout, giving it a surprisingly contemporary graphic silhouette. But also a lid topped with a delicate conical cabochon and a rare stamp: “pillivite – made in France” fired porcelain – Pillivuyt & Cie – Mehun. This Mehun mention refers to Mehun-sur-Yèvre, the historic birthplace of Pillivuyt porcelain since 1854. It is there that the factory developed its legendary fire-resistant pastes, combining artisanal tradition and thermal innovation. Why it's valuable: This teapot is not just a beautiful object, it's also a testament to the great tradition of French culinary porcelain. Designed to withstand heat, it combines durability and aesthetics, at a time (c. 1950–1970) when design and domestic use were beginning to interact. Dimensions: height 14 cm, width 17 cm, depth 9 cm. Perfect condition, no chips or stains – ready to join your home or collection.
