Folding table Napoleon III in black lacquered wood with gold decoration, 19th century.

Elegant folding table in the Napoleon III style, dating from the 19th century, made of black lacquered wood richly decorated with painted and gilded motifs. The undulating tabletop features a remarkable animal decoration composed of deer, felines, and birds, surrounded by scrolls and gilded plant motifs. The whole is set against an elegant black background, offering a particularly refined contrast. The table rests on a curved tripod base, richly adorned with gilded decorations. Its folding system allows for easy reduction of its footprint when not in use. An original and highly decorative piece, typical of the 19th-century taste for lacquered furniture inspired by Asian designs.
