Stunning vintage mid-century Vallauris ceramic amphora vase, handmade and signed by the renowned master potter Louis Giraud (1896–1985), circa 1950. An iconic piece of French Riviera modernist design, this sculptural vase features intricately braided, twisted handles and a dramatic, flared scalloped rim. It is finished in a magnificent flamed majolica drip glaze showcasing vibrant, multi-layered tones of emerald green, seafoam, and deep turquoise indigo accented with white foam variegation. The glaze retains a beautiful, high-gloss liquid shine that catches the light beautifully. The base is hand-incised with the maker's marks "Vallauris France" alongside the authentic cursive signature of Louis Giraud, making it a true collector's piece. Condition Report: The vase is in excellent vintage display condition with brilliant, highly reflective enameling. Please note: a few minor vintage surface chips have been meticulously restored and re-glazed. This cosmetic touch-up is exceptionally clean and virtually invisible from a normal viewing distance, keeping the vase’s striking visual harmony and decorative impact fully intact. This has been completely factored into the attractive pricing, offering a fantastic opportunity to own a large, authentic signed mid-century masterpiece at a fairer tier.
