Tatra armchair with footrest

The armchair with a footrest was designed by frantisk jirak for the czechoslovak furniture factory tatra nabytok. The set comes from the mid-1960s. An armchair with a very original form with armrests made of bent plywood finished with mahogany veneer and a comfortable, spring upholstered seat. The set is complemented by a large footrest, also upholstered with springs. The set has undergone a comprehensive carpentry and upholstery renovation. The wooden elements have been cleaned of old coatings, re-stained and covered with several layers of semi-matt varnish. The upholstery fillings have been replaced and the springs re-laced, the whole thing covered with modern, high-quality fabric.
