Large glazed stoneware vase made by Albert Jacques, a potter from Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, in Nièvre. A beautiful piece with generous lines, featuring a decoration of glaze drips in shades of beige, brown, and ochre. Its ovoid silhouette, slightly tapered neck, and the natural variations in the glaze give it a lot of character. Albert Jacques comes from an old lineage of potters from Puisaye, whose craftsmanship has been passed down since the 18th century. In 1922, he took over the former pottery of sculptor and ceramist Paul Jeanneney in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye. He continued the tradition of Puisaye stoneware until his son Roger Jacques (1920-2001) carried on the family business and developed a more artistic production. A beautiful piece representative of the ceramic heritage of Puisaye, both decorative and authentic. Dimensions: Height: 29 cm. Maximum diameter: 21 cm. In perfect condition.
