This set of 14 soup plates is a production of the lunéville manufacture from the 1950s. 4 different screen-printed patterns represent exotic birds. Multicolored parakeets (x4), euspiza luteola (x4), hummingbirds (x3) and a fourth unidentified couple (x3). These decorations reproduce lithographs by the 19th century british ornithologist and naturalist john gould. The sea green color on the wings brings an irresistible softness to the whole. The colors of the illustrations still have all their brilliance, the gilding present on the slope and the edge of the plates are almost intact. The whole is therefore in very good condition. Note a break in earthenware under the slope of a plate and a hummingbird model whose colors have faded a little. Diameter: 22.5 cm weight of the whole: 4.9 kg.
