German cobalt blue porcelain candy dish from the town of ilmenau, thuringia, dating from the 1950s to 1960s. A high quality porcelain that was very successful at the time, although this cobalt blue appeared in the region in 1853. Its uniform color of intense blue, similar to the lapis lazuli stone, won the hearts of many people, especially between 1880 and 1914. Wars and new developments in design contributed to the oblivion of this cobalt blue porcelain, but it made a comeback in the 1950s. * the porcelain has a beautiful shine, with pretty patterns delicately enhanced by hand, using beautiful precision with gold powder or brass. The partial erasure but also the precise depth of the patterns around the candy dish makes me think that it is based on brass. These erasures completely add charm, without detracting from its beauty. A scene from daily life from the 19th century, applied by decal, is present on the candy box. * a beautiful collector's item or aesthetic utility item for storing jewelry, candies, chocolates, sugar, or even small treats. It has good capacity and depth for its usefulness. It is numbered 24.2 chips (see photos), one under the lid repaired by the previous owner and the other on the inside edge of the candy box and a little outside, this in no way alters its aesthetics. Once closed. * ⚖️o.450 gr 📏11.5 cm dia / 5.5 cm h.
