Bonbonniere made of pressed glass in the Art Nouveau style, based on a Viennese pattern, originating from Czechoslovakia from the 1950s. The material is transparent, colourless glass with a cool shade, characterised by high transparency as well as considerable thickness and weight. The surface is decorated with deeply embossed geometric and plant patterns, including rosettes resembling stars and lattice motifs, which create a faceted, rhythmic texture. The finish is glossy and highly reflective, emphasising the richness of the decorative cuts. The perfectly fitted lid repeats the motifs from the body and maintains the symmetrical line of the design. The cylindrical form with a wide, flat lid reflects the mid-20th-century tendency to reinterpret Art Nouveau in a decorative utilitarian spirit. The bonbonniere has the original gold manufacturer's sticker confirming its authenticity. Condition is very good – no visible damage, chips or cracks, only minimal signs of use. This item tells the story of a time when, after the war, classic motifs were revived in a new, more utilitarian form. The patterns embossed in the glass are reminiscent of Viennese Art Nouveau, but are simplified, in keeping with the spirit of the 1950s. The bonbonniere seems to whisper of old salons where light was scattered on faceted surfaces and every detail had its place in the daily ritual. The transparent glass, although massive, takes in light and reflects it with many reflections – as if inviting you to pause for a moment and reflect. The bonbonniere can be used both as a decorative accent on a console in the living room and as a practical container for trinkets or sweets on a coffee table. It works well in arrangements inspired by Art Nouveau, vintage or eclectic glass collections. It is worth combining it with other glass vessels of different textures or with porcelain figurines in a retro spirit to emphasise its historical character. It will bring a subtle touch of the mid-20th century to interiors where both detail and the story contained in the object matter.
