Pair of space age chairs in curved steel, 1970s

Pair of curved chrome steel chairs from the 1970s. Their sinuous shapes make them almost sculptural and very decorative. They possess that futuristic Space Age look that has influenced design since the launch of Sputnik in 1957 through to the Apollo missions and the moon landing in 1969. The possibilities introduced by space travel have impacted all areas of society and creativity. The condition of the chrome is good, and they have been reupholstered (new foam and fabric). Sold as a pair.
