Pair of chairs bistro tanned Mundus Ungvar Ungarn 1900

These bentwood chairs date from the early twentieth century and come from the austrian mundus manufacture in collaboration with ungvar ungarn. The latter, taking advantage of the expiry of thonet's patents, will in turn launch its production like fischel and baumann. These models are rare since they were produced in much smaller quantities than those of thonet or fischel. Their slightly flared and arched legs are made of turned wood. The seat is canned. We particularly like the originality of their backrests with turned wooden bars of a beautiful finesse, which differentiate them from other models. They are in good condition for chairs that have had such a long life. They show traces of use consistent with their old age. The canning of the seats has relaxed but this does not affect their visual or stability and comfort. The wood has taken on a nice patina. Height: 91 cm. Seat diameter: 42 cm.
