Antique Japanese Basket from the 19th Century - Lacquered Bamboo "Negoro" - Collector's Item. A magnificent authentic Japanese basket from the 19th century (Meiji period / late Edo). This rare piece is an exceptional testament to Asian craftsmanship. Made from finely woven bamboo, it is covered in traditional lacquer with stunning hues: a deep black that reveals through transparency blood-red highlights, with a natural patina. "Wabi-sabi" Patina: An incredible presence, ideal for minimalist, design decor or a curiosity cabinet. Bamboo Work: Robust and complex weaving, typical of high-quality objects from the period. Condition: Very good overall condition for an object over 130 years old. The structure is sound and the lacquer has retained all its brilliance.
