Brass shade developed on three concentric levels, with five outer hand-worked segments featuring distinctive irregular edges. Denmark, '60s. Pendant lamp in brass designed to control the diffusion of light through a shade constructed on three concentric levels. The central canopy, from which the suspension chain is attached, encloses the lamp holder and is surrounded by a continuous cylindrical section featuring five evenly spaced perforations. Surrounding this, five curved brass segments complete the outer layer of the shade, leaving open spaces between each element while displaying the distinctive irregular edges created through flame cutting and subsequent hand-finishing. The interaction between these three levels partially conceals the light source while allowing light to spread downward and filter laterally through the perforations and the gaps between the outer segments, creating a soft, controlled illumination. In terms of its construction and brass craftsmanship, the lamp recalls several lighting designs by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen for Holm Sørensen & Co., among the leading figures of Scandinavian Brutalist lighting during the 1960s, although the absence of maker's marks or original documentation prevents a definitive attribution.
