Havana leather and chrome lounge chair – Heinrich Pfalzberger, 1970s

Elegant lounge chair attributed to Swiss designer Heinrich Pfalzberger, dating from the 1970s. A very beautiful modernist construction combining a tubular chrome steel frame with a suspended seat in original Havana brown leather, soft and generous. The design, particularly successful, plays on the continuity of the chrome tube and the lightness of the leather upholstery. The high, slightly inclined backrest, complemented by a padded headrest, offers a particularly comfortable position. The armrests are also covered in leather. The design is interesting down to its details: the leather is held and tensioned by a lacing system at the back, characteristic of the chair's construction, while the zippers allow for the adjustment of the upholstered elements. The chair is in beautiful vintage condition, with a patina and slight signs of use consistent with its age. The leather has a very beautiful deep and warm Havana hue; the chrome retains a lovely shine. A piece that is both graphic and comfortable, typical of high-end European furniture from the 1970s.
