Double rya roughs from the famous Dutch brand Bergoss, from the 1960's - 1970's. Weaving "high pile wool" high quality tufté. Two rectangular carpets of 70x140, constituting a square of 140x140 cm once assembled. Carpets can be assembled or arranged separately. Twirl pattern, psychedelic fire spirals, in a gradation of shimmering pop seventies colors, these rya rugs op art offer a warm red, orange and golden yellow, framed by a complementary antagonistic brown and white. The repetition of the motif, in a preoccupation close to Panton's aesthetic research, justifies pushing this reiteration to its climax by assembling these two carpets into one. Positioned side-by-side, these two rectangles of well-studied proportions form a perfect square, in fact hypnotic mirror, where the curves meet, complement each other and echo each other. Space age in its modernist motifs, these rounded and curved to saturation, however, also remind us of the flower-power aesthetic that Bergoss loves so much to explore in his creations. Thick, cozy, and warm, extravagant but elegant, these versatile rugs will adapt to any interior retro design vintage, modernist, art deco or contemporary. No noticeable defect, except the absence of labels of which only remains the trace on one of the two. Connoisseurs will make no mistake, and will not stop at this detail. The Bergoss weaving is clearly identifiable, has nothing to envy its Dutch competitor Desso: its quality is undeniable and does not prove itself. Clean, with no noticeable flaws, these vintage rugs are surprisingly well preserved. A thorough cleaning to perfect the brilliance of the material and colors will remain a plus, left to the free appreciation of the buyer, who will make these carpets his own for decades to come.
