This large oval dining table with a black lacquered top is one of the most emblematic pieces of maison jansen. Named royal, this table was designed especially by pierre delbée for french actress jacqueline delubac in the early 1960s, who hated the idea of a large dining table in her parisian apartment, but nevertheless wanted to organize social dinners at home. She. Fully foldable, nevertheless very stable and robust, and impeccably chic, this table is truly a perfect testimony to the know-how of maison jansen. The tops are in solid oak, entirely re-lacquered in glossy black. It rests on an ingenious base in patinated gunmetal steel, with details and wheels in gilded brass. It is made up of four different parts, fully foldable, and offers three different options and lengths. Without the central element, its width is 140 centimeters. By adding an extension, its width is 200 centimeters. Fully deployed, including the central element resting on 6 feet, its width is 300 centimeters and can very comfortably accommodate 12 guests. This royal table is a very rare bird. Fewer than 100 pieces were produced between the 1960s and 1980s by maison jansen, and probably less than 10 in its largest version with the six-legged central element, presented here.
