Type 6950 TON armchair from 60s.

Designed by j. Smidek and manufactured in czechoslovakian factory ton – one of world’s oldest factories of bentwood furniture. The company’s history dates back to 1861, when michael thonet founded the first factory in bystrice pod hostynem. In 1953, the factory was named ton. Up to this day, the company continues its traditions by successfully introducing new trends and designs of bentwood furniture. The armchair has undergone a carpentry and upholstery renovation. The wooden elements have been cleaned of old varnish, painted with a brown stain and secured with several layers of semi-matt varnish. Upholstered elements have been replaced and recreated with attention to detail and resemblance to the original.
