Mountain buffet in larch and solid pine, Folk art, 19th century

Mountain buffet in larch and solid pine, made in the French Alps in the 19th century. It opens with two doors, the panels of which are adorned with relief sculpted decorations. Entirely assembled using traditional techniques of mortise and tenon joints and wooden pegs, it retains a beautiful old patina as well as antique hardware. Its interior offers practical storage space. The panelled sides, the overhanging cornice, and the simplicity of its construction highlight the quality of its craftsmanship, while the sculptures give it all its character. A beautiful piece of Alpine folk art, ideal in a contemporary interior as well as in a mountain home. Dimensions: H 95 × W 140 × D 51 cm.
