Italian buffet with wooden mirror, glass, and brass, Italy, 1960s.

Italian sideboard with wooden mirror, glass, and brass, Italy, 1960s. This Italian sideboard with a mirror from the 1960s is designed in the style of Vittorio Dassi and is characterized by its expressive, almost futuristic shape and its shiny, sculptural appearance. The design revolves around strong geometry and layered surfaces, giving the piece a dynamic presence that changes with light and reflections. The sideboard rests on elegant, slightly curved legs made of darker wood with purplish tones, finished with brass tips. This subtle color contrast works well with the warm brown and black tones of the body and adds depth to the overall composition. The drawer fronts are distinctly articulated with raised ribs and beveled edges, creating a rhythmic and architectural pattern that becomes even more pronounced thanks to the reflection of the mirror above. The top is finished with glass, under which a special pink paper is applied, giving the surface a very soft hue that is only visible under certain lighting conditions. In the front left corner, the glass has a few small chips. These are completely concealed by the wooden panel above and are not noticeable in daily use. The mirror is mounted with four sculptural brass clamps shaped like shells and is partially recessed into a sculpted section of the sideboard, reflecting both the geometry of the drawers and the materials below. The combination of wood, glass, brass, and mirror creates a lively surface with a luxurious and slightly theatrical character. It is a bold piece that works particularly well as a counterpoint in more subdued interiors while remaining fully functional with generous storage. The indicated dimensions refer to the sideboard itself. The mirror measures 106 cm in height. We handle shipping in-house and are often much faster than others, with delivery to the United States and Asia sometimes possible within two weeks. The original brass legs and handles have been lightly polished, which really brings out the brass. We love it pink and shiny! Dimensions. Width: 198 cm. Height: 70 cm.
