"Edgard Aubry, born in Châtelet (Belgium) in 1880 and died in Bouffioulx on 1st July 1943, was a Belgian ceramist. Edgard was the son of Joseph Aubry and Félicie Henriette Bertrand. He married in Bouffioulx on 27th February 1904. He began his training in his father's pottery. In 1903, he became a turner at the Gilles pottery in Châtelet (Belgium). When the Brussels artist Willem Delsaux settled in Bouffioulx in 1907, they began creating vases with impressionist decoration together. He also turned vases for other artists such as Pierre Paulus. In 1908, he set up his own workshop and created salt-glazed stoneware, sometimes decorated with patterns, reliefs, and engravings. Between 1916 and 1937, he participated in several national and international exhibitions. He was notably present at the Pavilion of Honour at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in 1925, as well as in Glasgow in 1928.".
