Magnificent Victorian library in mahogany burr veneer. English work from the 19th century. Coming from a bourgeois apartment in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, this low library has retained its splendid patina. The mahogany burr veneer is luminous and contrasts wonderfully with the uniquely designed gilded bronzes. They are all present, at the top and bottom of the main uprights, as well as in a garland around the edge of the top. With great finesse, they highlight the beauty of the wood while remaining relatively discreet. The upper parts are inlaid, once again with great finesse, to form stylised floral patterns. The shades blend into the overall colour of the wood. The lower plinth is moulded and adorned with a fine inlay border. The sides are also veneered and in very good condition, just like the top. There are three removable shelves per niche, all with an inlay border on the edge. They are adjustable in height. There are a few rare superficial signs of wear and added shelf supports, but they are perfectly functional. It is stable, solid, and sound - ready to use as is. L: 173 cm. D: 38 cm. H: 103 cm. Usable dimensions of a shelf: 24 x 57 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivered to your doorstep in the Île-de-France for 40 euros.
