Modernist glass sculpture, from the exclusive "Studio-Design" line of the Bavarian glassworks JOSKA Kristall. This prestigious workshop was founded in 1961 by designer Josef Kagerbauer (who gave his initials JOS-KA to the brand). Designed in the 1980s-1990s (studio glass movement), this piece is distinguished by its organic and biomorphic silhouette. The hot shaping, done freehand and blown, demonstrates great technical mastery. The structure employs the Sommerso technique: a fluid core in intense purple and cobalt blue is encapsulated in a thick mass of clear crystal. The complexity lies in its three perforations created on the fly in the molten parison, requiring perfect temperature management to avoid collapsing the perforated material. The whole rests on a heavy circular pedestal ensuring the stability of the volume. Excellent vintage condition, the crystal is clear, and the original "JOSKA Studio-Design" label is intact.
