Rare buffet designed by André Wogenscky, architect and direct collaborator of Le Corbusier, in collaboration with sculptor Marta Pan, as part of a public commission for the EDF Center in Charleville-Mézières in the early 1960s. This piece fully embodies the post-war modernist thought, where architecture, furniture, and art are seen as a coherent whole. The buffet is distinguished by a pronounced horizontal line, a rigorous architectural structure, and a subtle handling of proportions, characteristics of Wogenscky’s approach. The sliding panels, treated as solid planes, interact with the open volumes in a composition that is both functional and sculptural, a sensitive echo of Marta Pan's formal universe. Today, it constitutes a rare piece, at the intersection of modernist furniture, architecture, and sculpture. A work of furniture with significant historical value, ideal for a 20th-century design collection, an architect's interior, or a museum presentation.
