Art Deco Chandelier, Brass and Hand-Blown Glass, Restored, 1930s
Art Deco chandelier from the 1930s, made to a very high standard. The five arms with their sculpted, leaf-shaped brackets are made of brass, which combines polished brass with darker patinated brass in the sockets and central sphere. A rope-wrapped stem with a tassel adds a period detail. The chandelier has been fully restored and newly rewired. It has two circuits, with two and three lights, so you can switch between different levels of light. It takes five E26/E27 bulbs of up to 60W each. The chandelier was originally made without shades. New hand-blown opal glass shades, made by Czech glassmakers, have been added. They simply rest on the socket cups and are held in place by the bulbs. The chandelier looks equally good with or without the shades, so it can be used either way.
