Antique Japanese stand or side table from the late 19th century.

Dimensions. Diameter of the top 28 cm. Diameter at the feet 30 cm. Height 64 cm. Asian high pedestal (or guéridon) in carved wood with a top inlaid with pink/red marble. This type of furniture was generally used to display plants (bonsais) or porcelain. Origin: Japan (export). The paper label under the furniture indicates "DAI-NIPPON" (大日本), which means Great Japan. Period: Late 19th century to early 20th century (Meiji or Taishō period, around 1890–1920). This is the period when these richly carved blackened wood or stained beech furniture, adorned with floral motifs (plum/cherry blossoms), were abundantly exported to Europe. In very good condition, no缺失.
