Pair of thick white glass cups and saucers, hand-blown by the Vianne glassworks. Each piece is marked "Verre de Vianne France, " with the manufacturer's V monogram on the cups as well as under the saucers. The cups are slightly asymmetrical with a somewhat oblique rim, and the shape is not identical from one piece to another. Their material changes with the light, featuring variations in texture and fine blowing striations. The photos do not fully capture all the subtleties; this is something that is especially noticeable in hand. I did not find an identical model in the manufacturer's catalogs, which is primarily known for its lighting fixtures. This pair may belong to a special production, but I cannot confirm it. The set is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. One of the cups has some marks inside and a small imperfection in the glaze, which is original, on the outside (visible in photos). Dimensions: Cups approx. 6 X 11.5 X 6 cm / saucers approx.: 16 X 1.8 X 15.5 cm. Located in Vianne (Lot-et-Garonne), this French glassworks began its activity in the 1920s. Specializing in hand-blown glass, it became known worldwide for its glass lighting fixtures and decorative objects.
