Superb antique chest made of solid oak, typical of the West of France, dated between the 17th and early 18th century. This type of furniture was used as a household chest or dowry chest, intended to store linen, clothing, and precious items. Joinery with mortise and tenon joints, the front is made up of moulded panels with a diamond pattern. The lid is made of three wide planks, with original patina. Old flat lock. Width 138 cm. Depth 70 cm. Height 100 cm. Visible splits on the lid, related to the natural work of the wood. Old woodworm marks but treated wood. This is an authentic chest, clearly predating the industrial productions of the 19th century. Perfect for a characterful interior, country house, gîte, or chic rustic decoration. Additional photos available upon request. The chest is simply placed on wheels for easy movement, not fixed to the feet. To be collected on-site ONLY (on the ground floor, easy access) North Finistère.
