A sculptural handmade Beni Ouarain rug defined by a rhythmic chevron design created entirely by texture. Woven from undyed natural wool, this piece combines a soft and generous pile with lower flat-woven channels that reveal the structure of the pattern. The absence of contrasting colours highlights the craftsmanship itself: the height of the pile, the texture of the wool, the negative space, and the light work together to create the design. Each rug is handwoven by Amazigh (Berber) artisans, made from 100% natural sheep wool, woven on a traditional Berber loom, individually knotted and finished by hand, crafted using traditional Moroccan weaving techniques, and completely unique. No mass production — only authentic Berber craftsmanship. Colour palette: natural ivory, warm cream, subtle oat tones in the exposed woven areas. The tonal variations are characteristic of natural wool and enhance the organic nature of the rug. The design consists of zigzag and chevron lines repeated vertically across the rug. Rather than drawing these patterns with coloured wool, the artisan creates them by alternating sections of hand-knotted wool with flat-woven and low-pile channels. This relief construction gives the surface an almost three-dimensional quality. The close-up reveals the individual wool knots and the slightly irregular movement of each line. These variations are an essential part of the piece: each chevron carries the weaver's hand rather than the mechanical precision of a machine-made pattern. As natural light moves across the rug, the shadows in the recessed lines become stronger or softer, subtly changing its appearance throughout the day.
