Exceptional architect's bookshelf, ideal for dressing a large contemporary living room, a bedroom, or an executive office. Modular bookshelf designed by Georges Nelson, published by Mobilier International from the 1960s/70s. This ingenious system (CSS = Comprehensive Storage System) allows you to place these elements wherever you wish on the uprights to create a tailored composition. This concept helps solve storage problems in private or public spaces, communities, and offices. Structure and components. High-end finish referenced "RN": black aluminium uprights with natural polished edges and elements in black-stained ash with 4 modular bays: 5+1 floor/wall uprights in extruded black aluminium with polished edges, Height 2.25 m to 2.49 m (extendable with tensioning screws for floor/wall), 14 shelves in black-stained ash (83.5 X 33 cm), 4 bookends (B) with aluminium cord, 1 low chest of drawers opening with 3 drawers in black-stained ash (83.5 X 47 X 37 cm), All original metal brackets and fixings included. The whole is in excellent aesthetic and structural condition. Only one ash shelf has a slight mark on the top due to past exposure to moisture. This minor defect can be easily concealed by placing the shelf higher up, or can be slightly restored.
