Rare post-modern blue neon floor lamp designed by rudi stern and dan chelsea for the let there be neon gallery in new york in 1983, with lighting elements provided by george kovacs. The brushed stainless steel center column is 10 centimeters wide, and is offset at an angle of 45 degrees to the base. Let there be neon gallery was instrumental in the proliferation of neon as an art form in the 1970s and 1980s, with works commissioned by nam june paik, jeff koons, and keith haring, to name a few. The floor lamp has been fully cleaned, restored and electrified, and is in superb vintage condition.
