Twelve vintage hollow plates in faience from Moulin des Loups, adorned with a pheasant amidst flowering branches, for a table with rustic and refined charm. The central decoration, created using a stencil in a bright blue, depicts a stylized pheasant perched on a branch, surrounded by flowers and light foliage. The rim is highlighted with blue lines that follow the slightly scalloped edge of the plate. The back bears the green stamp of the manufacturer, featuring the windmill and the mention "Moulin des Loups – Orchies – Nord – France." This complete set of twelve plates from yesteryear will accommodate soups, broths, and stews, and will easily pair with white dinnerware or other pieces in blue shades. The faience factory in Orchies, in the North, was established at the end of the 19th century by brothers Émile and Joseph L’Herminé Declercq, who were already involved in pottery in Belgium. In 1923, it partnered with the faience factory of Hamage to form Moulin des Loups & Hamage. Its production experienced significant growth between 1920 and 1970, with nearly 500 workers at its peak, and its stenciled decor services have become classics of French tables. Overall good condition with slight signs of use, typical for dinnerware of this age. Diameter 21 cm.
