VINTAGE VASE IN GRES EMAILLE ALEXANDRE KOSTANDA VALLAURIS

Another beautiful vintage 😉 piece. It is an enamelled sandstone vase decorated with daisies and blue flowers this one is signed a.kostanda vallauris. Alexander kostanda was born in 1921 in poland. Following his parents by lorraine, then by paris, it was in 1929 that alexandre kostanda settled in vallauris. From 1936 to 1938 alexandre kostanda was apprenticed to louis giraud and learned decoration. In 1940, he became a trainer in a center of the "compagnons de france" and taught ceramics in biot. Being a professor at the c.e.t. Of the faïenceries de longchamp in 1946, he taught turning and pottery. 1949, back in vallauris, alexandre kostanda became head of workshop at louis giraud, before opening his own workshop in 1953.
