Description
In 1954, fuga (or colora) bowls were hailed as a revolutionary design. Unlike the traditional method, they were made by spinning molten glass on a rotating mold. Initially, orrefors was skeptical, but when nordiska kompaniet placed a one-year order, their success was confirmed. In 1955 they were exhibited at the “h55” exhibition in helsingborg and won the grand prix at the milan triennale in 1957, becoming a commercial success. The glass artist sven robert palmqvist, born in 1906 in sweden, is at the origin of this design. Traces of normal wear linked to the age of the objects.
