This luminaire was designed by italian designer mario botta for artemide in italy in the 80s. The inspiration of japan is very present in this luminaire. Indeed, the term "shogun" refers to a general in ancient japan. In addition, mario botta was inspired by the armor and helmets of the samurai to draw this model.
