Kokeshi doll ancient Japan

Pretty old kokeshi doll. Origin japan, twentieth century. These lucky dolls carved from wood are traditionally created in tōhoku province. A region also renowned for its onsens, hot springs in which you can bathe to relax. In this tourist place, local craftsmen work with wood, the kijishi (木地師), and sell their dolls as souvenirs.
