4-light chandelier arlus pendant in modernist golden brass with persplex resin lampshade 1950-1960

This magnificent chandelier with four arms of light is a creation by the house of Arlus. This modernist pendant light is in gold-plated brass and black lacquered. It is a vintage lighting fixture with a refined and elegant design from the 1960s. Arlus is a French lighting manufacturer, founded in the 1950s and based in the 11th and 17th arrondissements of Paris. Their creations are characterized by the use of gilded brass and lacquered tubular metal. The rectilinear frame is in gold-plated brass and black lacquered. The lampshades are made of translucent bubbled pearl resin, called persplex. The Hollywood Regency style of this elegant gold model is typical of creations from the 1960s. This light fixture is not signed. I point out scratches from use and traces of oxidation. It measures 60 cm in height x 63 cm in width. The lampshades have small, discreet cracks and chips. The sockets are bayonet.
