Pair of carved armchairs in Empire style – mahogany wood

Very beautiful pair of Empire-style armchairs, richly carved wood, made in Indonesia. These armchairs stand out for their elegant structure in mahogany-stained wood, their widely curved and particularly crafted armrests, adorned with sculpted motifs inspired by the Empire and neoclassical repertoire, as well as their decorated legs and uprights. The detail of the armrests, with their motifs evoking stylised dolphins, adds a lot of character to the whole and reflects the care taken in their creation. The backs and seats are dressed in an ecru fabric with fine tone-on-tone stripes, sober and luminous, which contrasts beautifully with the warm hue of the wood. A label located at the back of one of the armchairs bears the mention "Made in Indonesia." These are Empire-inspired armchairs, not 19th-century French Empire furniture.
